2020 was a year of challenges for all of us worldwide, but at Corporate Conversions we are grateful for having the opportunity to serve our clients this past year. As so many businesses and organizations transitioned to being online more, we were very busy. However, it’s safe to say we all hope 2021 is much more normal than 2020 was. We’ve discussed the importance of local SEO multiple times on our blog. We were reminded again this year how important local businesses are to all of us. Google stepped up and made changes to its Google My Business listings to help companies keep communication open with their customers during the lockdowns. Moving forward, Google intends to make GMB even more relevant and vital to business owners, including expanding business messaging, promoting posts, updating Google Maps, and offering easier access to performance analytics.
If you have not yet claimed your Google My Business listing and aren’t using it in your marketing and advertising, you are missing out on a great opportunity to promote yourself to the public for free. A big chunk of the public is even more reliant on search engines than ever for their shopping and business information because they are at home indefinitely. They want to know how current conditions are affecting how you run your business.
