The Challenge

Based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Charter Capital Partners is a leading merchant bank and Registered Investment Adviser serving the lower middle market. Charter approached us with the hopes of upgrading their Squarespace website to better reflect the depth and breadth of the company’s services and offerings. The goals of the redesign were many: to create a visually pleasing, robust site on the WordPress platform, to allow for ease of maintenance and updates, and to incorporate custom functionality that would showcase their expertise and provide benefit to the user – all the while, generating leads. 

Our Approach

Custom, editable transactions
Charter needed a quick, easy way to create “tombstones,” the industry term for completed transactions. Creating a custom graphic requires time, skill, and special software, so we offered a solution to simplify and hasten the process. With a custom post based on a branded design, the Charter team can now easily upload transaction logos, update copy, and generate a tombstone in a matter of minutes. What’s more useful, though, is the fact that these tombstones can be tagged – by industry, service, and team member – and displayed on related pages of the site.


Industry reports at the ready
Full of industry data and news, Charter desired a way to deliver their M&A Insights in a quick, customized manner. Sprinkled throughout the site via modal pop-ups and slide-ins are opportunities to select and receive these publications. Users only need to opt-in and select the industry publications they wish to receive. Like the tombstones, these publications are tagged by industry and team member, which allows the user to further hone in on the information they need. It doesn’t get much simpler than that.



The newly designed site was well-received internally and a shout out of thanks given to Corporate Conversions via LinkedIn. The new platform has afforded Charter with room to grow, and a small learning curve for updates. With SEO data building every week, we anticipate a jump in site traffic and conversion rates over the next year.
